Tower Hill Botanic Garden

Visit Tower Hill Botanic Garden in Boylston for a bunch of affordable and fun activities.  Tower Hill is open 9AM-5PM Saturday April 19th through Sunday April 26th.  Each day includes children’s activities such as story times, crafts, scavenger hunts, story walks, and a Fairy House Display Village.  The sounds and gardens will be full of spring flowers and perfect for families to explore and enjoy Spring after such a harsh winter.  You can learn more about their special events at their website www.towerhillbg.org

CC Lowell

CC Lowell on Park Ave. in Worcester is offering some special Paint Labs during April Vacation. Bring your painting clothes! Paint Lab for Kids is an art class hosted every week! We provide everything; canvas, brushes, paint and easels! With step by step instruction your child will leave with a canvas creation of their own!  On Tuesday, April 21st at 2PM there will be a Superman Paint Lab and on Thursday, April 23rd at 5PM, there is a SpongeBob Paint Lab.  Each Paint Lab is $15 and you can register by calling them at (508) 757-7713.  Learn more at www.cclowell.com

EcoTarium

The EcoTarium will have special programming during April School Vacation.  Join them for Build It! For a Greener Tomorrow.  Bring the whole family to work together on earth-friendly creations and learn how the pros adapt their designs to be green.  Use your noodle in Imagination Playground, test your engineering skills in KEVA Brain Builders Challenges bring your hard hat to the Green Construction Zone and get inspired to create during Story Time Structures.

On Friday, April 24, The EcoTarium will host their annual Earth Day Celebration featuring half-priced admission for everyone!  Meet local green organizations under the tent and enjoy special guests and activities.  There will be lots of indoor and outdoor Earth-friendly happenings, hands-on activities and entertainment.  WGBH will be there to present PBS Kids’ Plum Landing videos and provide families with exciting hands-on and outdoor activities.  Learn more at their website www.ecotarium.org

Beaman Memorial Public Library

Beaman Memorial Public Library in West Boylston will feature several special events to celebrate April School Vacation including an Earth Day Celebration on Wednesday, April 22nd.  Drop by the library, make a special project for their Earth Day bulletin board, check out any book on the environment/earth and receive a tree to plant!  On Wednesday, April 22nd at 6PM you can attend a Wildlife Program where Ranger Jon Dudley and Ranger Andy Leahy from the Department of Conservation and Recreation will present a program on the wildlife in the Wachusett Watershed.  They will be bringing specimen and presenting a PowerPoint for families.  Children must be school age to attend and sign up is required.  On Friday April 24th from 6-8PM you can attend Family Fun Night where there will be pizza and fun activities.  Participants will be entered into a raffle for a Family Fun basket.  Sign up is required.  You can register for these events by calling (508) 835-3711 ext 3.

 

 

 

Old Sturbridge Village

Young and old are invited to celebrate spring with the arrival of baby animals and the prepping of our fields at Old Sturbridge Village. Meet the Village’s cuddly, heritage breed newborns up-close and experience first-hand the responsibilities of raising animals on a farm in 1830. At the Freeman Farm, families will learn about 19th century agriculture practices and tools, as well as learn how they are applicable to today’s farmers and even backyard gardeners. Kids will even have a chance to try their hand at seasonal chores!  Enjoy expanded hands-on and interactive activities throughout the Village, along with family-friendly performances and entertainment, including music, storytelling, and puppet shows. Worcester Art Museum

A variety of creative workshops for ages 3-17 from April 21-24 offer hands-on instruction and exploration in a range of art mediums inspired by Japan and all over the globe. Spaces for the morning and afternoon workshops are limited. Each workshop is $20 for Members/$25 for non-members, unless otherwise noted. Pre-registration is required. All materials are provided for all workshops, and children should dress for mess.  There are three easy ways to register: online at www.worcesterart.org/vacationweek; in-person in the Higgins Education Wing, Sunday-Friday, 10am-4pm; or by calling 508-793-4333 to register with a credit card.

Art on the Rocks

During vacation week, Art on the Rocks in Worcester is offering several Family Day events.  On Sunday, April 19th “I Love You to the Moon” at 2PM, on Monday, April 20th “You Are My Sunshine” which can be done on 1, 2 or 3 canvases at 1PM, and on Friday, April 24th “Up Adventure” is at 1PM.  Each session is for ages 5+ and is $20 per person.  You can register online at https://artontherocksma.com/Worcester-Calendar.aspx
