Worcester Bravehearts To Host FREE Fan Fest

April 16, 2015

The Worcester Bravehearts announced plans to host their second annual Fan Fest on Saturday, April 18th in conjunction with their single-game tickets going on sale to the general public. Fan Fest is free and will take place at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field from 12pm – 3pm. Tickets will be available for all 28 of the team’s regular-season home games in the 2015 season, including opening day on June 5th.

The event will feature a scavenger hunt, inflatable obstacle course, and free Fitton Field Franks & popcorn to the first 1,000 fans. Kids can also runs the bases, play catch in the outfield, or try on a Bravehearts uniform in the dugout. Bravehearts’ merchandise will also be available at the park. Last season, nearly 800 fans attended the inaugural Bravehearts Fan Fest.

“Don’t worry! The snow will be gone,” said General Manager Dave Peterson. “Everyone has endured a difficult winter, so we’re ready to welcome in spring at the ballpark just as kids are getting ready for their Little League parades. Believe me, there’s plenty to be excited about in this upcoming Bravehearts’ season.”

This year’s event is sponsored by National Grid and will also provide kids with the first opportunity to sign up for a chance to become the Smart Grid Smart Kid at one game this summer. The National Grid Smart Grid Smart Kid receives free tickets to a game and is also invited onto the field after the game to turn out the stadium lights with a giant National Grid light switch just before the fireworks are launched.

"National Grid is proud to partner with the Bravehearts to help make this much-anticipated season all the more enjoyable for the Worcester community," said Ed White, National Grid's vice president of Customer Strategy and Environmental. "We're looking forward to seeing our defending champs light up the scoreboard."

The team has already announced two-thirds of the roster that will take the field on June 4th to defend their Futures Collegiate Baseball League title. The entire coaching staff and five other players from the 2014 team will return, while locals such as Luke Brennan of Franklin Pierce (Doherty H.S.), Zack Tower of UMass-Lowell (Auburn H.S.), and Assumption’s Mike Coggeshall (Shrewsbury H.S.) will also join the team this summer. The Bravehearts also plan on unveiling new concessions items, ballpark upgrades, and the entire 2015 promotional schedule in the two weeks leading up to Fan Fest.

Bravehearts single-game tickets are available to adults in the Premium Box level for $9, in the Box level for $8, and in the Grandstand for $7. Tickets for children under 12 are $7, $6, and $5 respectively. Fans will also save $1 on each ticket by purchasing them at Fan Fest, online at worcesterbravehearts.com, or by phone at 508-438-3773 in advance of each game. Fans who hold Bravehearts’ Flex vouchers or gift certificates for tickets may also begin exchanging them for actual seats beginning Saturday the 18th at noon. All exchanges must be made in person or over the phone.
