Growing up, I loved all the family traditions that made our holidays so special. I enjoyed the family gatherings, sitting at my grandmother’s table for the holiday meals, the special stories we would share, the holiday shows, the annual trip to enjoy a performance of The Nutcracker, and the time spent enjoying wonderful treats that made me feel as special on the inside as I did on the outside.

We moved away from family in 2013 for my husband’s job, but we never gave up on the family traditions. In fact, we even created a few more traditions because of our move to New England, like skating at The Worcester Oval, the first snowball fight of the season, and enjoying Hood Golden Eggnog by a warm fire when it’s snowing outside. Also, after moving up to the Worcester area, my daughter took ballet lessons at Boston Ballet's Newton studio for 2 years. What a wonderful experience! As a result, we began watching the Boston Ballet's "The Nutcracker" every year. It's another tradition.
Although "The Nutcracker" will not be performing live this year, due to COVID, they will be bringing the magic of the holidays for free to our homes through the TV. (See the schedule below.) That means we can make this holiday season one about our families being together regardless of how far apart we are, making memories and enjoying special meals.
Hood Eggnog is joining Boston Ballet and offering wonderful recipe suggestions to celebrate the occasion. We plan on making the Hood Golden Eggnog French Toast to enjoy while we watch the performance, and drinking some as an extra treat. My kids can’t wait for the local grocery stores to begin selling Hood Eggnog because it signals the beginning of this wonderful time, so I want to raise a socially distanced toast with all of you to a great holiday season and an enjoyable end to 2020!
