Every week, Macaroni KID Worcester shares five things to do with your kids in Worcester & Beyond over the coming weekend.

1. Princess Meet and Greet

Join us to meet and greet the Rose Princess and the Tower Princess from Sugar & Spice Fairytales! Each princess will share a story as well as pose for photographs. Feel free to dress up in your own royal themed or princess themed gear. Sponsored by the Friends of the Worcester Public Library. Wednesday, Dec 18th from 6-7pm at the Worcester Public Library. Drop in. Free.


2. Chanukah Storytime (Shrewsbury)

Join us at the library for a Chanukah themed story time including songs, stories, and a craft.

This program is geared for kids 2-8. No registration is required; admission tokens will be handed out beginning at 4:00PM and will be available until they run out. Thursday, December 19th from 4:30-5:30pm at Shrewsbury Public Library. Drop in. Free.


3. Polar Express Adventure (FREE)

Come in your pajamas and join in the fun as your elf- librarians host a fun-filled Polar Express adventure! Parents, don’t forget your cameras. Registration is required; sign-up at mywpl.org. Friday, December 20th from 4-5pm at Worcester Public Library. Register in advance. Free.


4. โ›ธ๏ธ Public Skating at Worcester Common Oval

The rink, aptly named the Worcester Common Oval and located directly behind Worcester City Hall at 455 Main Street, is professionally managed by ASM Global, the DCU Center's talented management team. The 12,000-square-foot rink, which is 4,000 square feet larger than the size of the Rink at Rockefeller Center, is complete with amenities such as piped-in music, skate rentals, concessions, holiday lights and more, making it a fun and affordable family-friendly activity. Saturday, December 21st from 1-9pm at the Worcester Common Oval. Drop in. Admission: $6.00; Children 5 and Under Skate Free.


5. Create Your Own Game with Scratch (Shrewsbury)

Create Your Own Game is an exciting, hands-on program  for kids in grades 3-6 to dive into the world of game development and animation through drag-and-drop coding platforms that offer easy-to-use tools. This program fosters creativity, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills as participants learn to build their very own games. Over the course of nine weekly sessions participants will design original games, learn new coding concepts, explore how the tech industry uses these same fundamentals, and have a lot of fun! This program is led by Lashika K and Luiza V of SHS as part of Teens Teach. For grades 3-6. Registration required. Registering commits you to attending all nine classes, December 1st-January 26th. December 22nd from 1:30-3pm. Register in advance. Free.
