Here is Macaroni KID Worcester's picks for the five things to do in the Worcester area with kids from Oct 14 - 20. Click on the links for all the details!

1. Preschool Story Hour: Bats

If you are between the ages of 3 and 5, bring your favorite adult for a thematic hour of a story, an activity, and a naturalist-led walk. Please dress for the weather and be prepared to be outdoors as much as possible for this program - weather permitting we will use the pavilion and sheltered porch as our classroom! Children ages 3-5 with a caregiver. Tuesday, Oct 15th at 10am at Mass Audubon Broad Meadow Brook in Worcester. $4 Child Members, $5 Child Nonmembers, Adults are free. Registration required.

2. Family Night in the Park (Worcester)

Dear Families, every summer we hold our Wednesday* evening playgroups at a Worcester park and/or playground. Please join us for a story time, songs, and an art activity for preschoolers and their families. At the same time, enjoy the fun and play at these great Worcester facilities! Wednesday, Oct 16th at 5:30pm at Coes Park in Worcester. Free. Drop in.

3. Kids Halloween Costume Swap (Worcester)

From 5-6: ticket holders can enjoy priority browsing. From 6-7: anyone can browse for costumes to bring home. Is your child ready for a new Halloween adventure? Don’t let last year’s costume gather dust—join us for our Halloween Costume Swap or Donate event at the Frances Perkins Branch!

How it works:

Costume Collection: From September 1st to October 17th, we are collecting gently used Halloween costumes for kids. Bring in your child’s old costumes to the Frances Perkins Branch during library hours. Costumes can be brought the day of the event.

Get a Ticket: For every costume you donate, you’ll receive a ticket. A ticket entitles you to participate in our exclusive swap hours from 5-6.

Swap Event: On October 17th From 5-6 PM, ticket holders can enjoy priority browsing of our costume collection. Find the perfect new-to-you costume for this year’s festivities. After 6 PM, the swap opens to everyone in the community. Browse and select costumes while supplies last—no ticket required! Limited to one costume per child while supplies last.
