Fireworks on Friday just added! The Worcester Bravehearts have announced that they will hold an Alumni Weekend on July 28-30th where they will welcome back former players, staff and partners. The weekend will feature three home games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday to be played at Fitton Field.
The entire weekend is sponsored by Bay State Savings Bank, who has been a partner of the Bravehearts since the team’s inaugural season in 2014.
“We are so excited to be able to sponsor Alumni Weekend with the Worcester Bravehearts July 28 -July 30th,” said Executive Vice President of Bay State Savings Bank Diane Giampa. We are especially excited to see the exhibition game on Friday night with the Worcester Police vs. the Worcester Firefighters. Bay State Savings Bank is the only mutual savings bank headquartered in Worcester – the Worcester Bravehearts are Worcester’s baseball team. Supporting local business is so very important to us.”
On Friday Night, the Bravehearts will host a “You-Choose-The-Rules” game, featuring the Worcester Police vs Worcester Fire Department Baseball Teams. Both the Police and Fire Department teams will be mixed with Bravehearts Alumni from the past 10 seasons.
The team will allow fans to submit rules they want to see, and the teams will play by one new rule per inning on the Friday Night. During the team’s past “You-Choose-The-Rules” games, rules have featured Kick Ball for an inning, Rock-Paper-Scissors to determine out or safe, and if you strikeout, you get pied in the face.
“We want this game to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” said Bravehearts Director of Fan Experience Donny Porcaro. “We hope that fans give us some ideas that go above and beyond what people think can be done at a baseball game. We’re extremely excited to have partnered with the Worcester Police, Fire and Bay State Savings Bank to bring this experience to the fans.”
Bay State Savings Bank is providing the first 250 tickets to the “You-Choose-The-Rules” game, which you can claim using the link here and the password “baystate”. If you would like to submit a rule for the team’s You-Choose-The-Rules game, click the link here to do so.
