We are lucky in Greater Worcester to have so many great playgrounds and parks to explore. From swings to slides, to climbing walls and water features, Greater Worcester parks and playgrounds keep my kids active, are a great place to meet old friends (and make new! friends), and they're FREE! This list has you covered, whether or not you are searching for something that is fenced in, has picnic areas, walking trails, a free petting zoo, separate playgrounds for toddlers and big kids and more!
I often get asked what our favorite playgrounds are, so I thought I'd share here with you my family's picks for our top five playgrounds and parks to visit in Worcester and Shrewsbury.

Dean Park

Shrewsbury
What we love about Dean Park:
Fenced in area with a playground for toddlers, big kids, baby swings, sandboxes and toys to drive through the sand. Bathrooms are on site. Walking paths are nearby and there is a pond, basketball court, tennis courts and baseball diamonds. In the summer months, check out the musical, lighted fountains in the pond. There are also summer concerts on the lawn that are free to the public!

What we love about Elm Park:
Elm Park has a great playground facility in the center of town with a scenic bridge and is shaded with trees, picnic areas, tennis courts, basketball, many festivals on the weekends throughout the year.

Goodale Park

What we love about Goodale Park:
This park has an area for toddlers and older kids and has been used for over 100 years.

Green Hill Park is open year round and has a free petting zoo, mini play area, picnic facilities, and is off the beaten path.

Quinsigamond State Park

What we love about Quinsigamond State Park:
There is a walking path along the water, a dog park, picnic areas, fishing and sailing (seasonal) at Quinsigamond State Park. The Regatta Point area offers facilities for swimming, sailing, picnicking and fishing. The Lake Park area provides a number of recreational opportunities including a picnic area, swimming beach and tennis courts.
