Worcester Recreation Offers Free Summer Programs
The City of Worcester officially launched a program aimed at keeping city youths active and engaged this summer – Recreation Worcester program.
Recreation Worcester is a free summer program for youth ages 7-13. It includes 6 weeks of free, supervised, drop-in recreation programs at several parks across the city and includes food from July 3rd - August 11th.
- Recreation Worcester's Summer program focuses on team work, sports, arts and fun learning delivered by local youth workers and community partners. Youth will be offered different options of activities to choose from guided by the Recreation Worcester staff team.
- WHERE: 5 parks throughout the City.
- WHEN: Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from July 3rd to August 11th.
- COST: Participation is free for children ages 7 to 13 and food is provided to campers.
Registration is required to participate in programming.

Worcester Tenacity Free Summer Programs
Each summer during July and August, Tenacity serves over 700 Worcester youth through our Summer Tennis & Reading Program (STRP) offered at sites across the city in partnership with the Worcester Parks & Recreation Department and Recreation Worcester, and in collaboration with Worcester’s YouthWorks Summer Jobs Program. This dynamic program is offered free-of-charge on summer weekday mornings and afternoons, Monday through Friday, for city youth ages 6 – 15.
Each session is split between tennis/fitness and summer reading activities. Tenacity’s STRP provides an enriching learning environment for Worcester students, keeping their minds and bodies active during the summer recess.
