Memorial Day Events in Worcester & Beyond

Looking for some virtual events to celebrate Memorial Day (Monday, May 29) with your family in Worcester and Beyond?  Check out our list!  Be sure to check with the specific towns for details. Memorial Day is still a time to honor heroes who have passed, however, we have to modify our observance of the holiday this year.

  1. Shrewsbury Memorial Day Events: Parade formation at Town Hall for participants starts at 8:45 am. Parade -opening remarks at 9:00 am. The parade kicks off from Municipal Office Building, 100 Maple Ave at 9:30 am. The parade route is Maple Ave to Town Center. The Memorial Day address will be held at the town center. The parade will then continue to Mountain View Cemetery. Please see the program linked below for more details. All veterans are welcome to march in the parade. There will be a van shuttle from the town common to the town hall for parade participants who wish to park at the town center beginning at 8:30 am. 
  2. Kids Craft from Michaels: Sunday, May 28th at 2pm.
  3. Westborough's 2023 Memorial Day Observances: The 2023 Memorial Day Parade will include units of the U.S. Marine Corps, Westborough Police/Fire Departments and Jr. & Sr. High School Bands, Rotary and Lions clubs, Girls Scouts and Boy Scouts, VFW, American Legion, community floats and many Westborough Veterans. Veterans wishing to ride on the Memorial Day float please meet the truck at Baxter St. across from the entrance to Pine Grove Cemetery before 10:00 AM.The parade will depart at 10:10 AM from the entrance to Pine Grove, head down South St to Midland Cemetery, and then on to the Forbes Municipal Bldg., for the Memorial Day Program with presentations and recognizing the 2023 Grand Marshal, Jack Crane, USA. Ceremonies will be conducted at St. Luke’s cemetery at 9:00 and observances at Pine Grove cemetery will be at 9:40 with the parade forming for departure at 10:10. Veterans are invited to join a group riding the bus to the cemeteries which departs the K of C at 8:45. We invite all veterans and citizens of Westborough and guests to join us for this
    special day which will conclude at 11:45 with a light lunch at the K of C.
  4. Worcester: The Memorial Day Observance Remembrance Ceremony will be at 9 a.m. at Hope Cemetery, Webster Street on Monday. A wreath-laying ceremony will be at 11 a.m. at the Massachusetts Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Green Hill Park, followed by another wreath-laying ceremony at 1 p.m. at the Korean War Memorial on Foster Street.
