Macaroni Kid Worcester Review - A Parade of Elephants Children's Book

By Noelle Monaghan - Worcester Macaroni Kid Publisher September 26, 2018

As a young girl, my favorite part of the summer involved being a part of our town's 4th of July parade.  After all, what child doesn't love parades?  The sights, the sounds, the floats, the candy and necklaces being tossed to the crowd are always so fun!

Fast forward to today.  I recently read the new children's book, A Parade of Elephants, by Kevin Henkes to my 7 year old daughter.  The book is cheery and lighthearted; a great bedtime story.  Do you know what these special elephants do at bedtime?  You'll have to read the book to find out!

I loved that not only was I able to read about nighttime, shapes and counting, but it also gave me the opportunity to share my own childhood memories of parades and a mini discussion about teamwork.  We enjoyed the colorful images as well!  We made sure to read it with her new, super cute stuffed elephant, and practiced drawing and coloring elephants afterwards for fun.

Very fun and easy to read story, perfect for young children.

Nice bold text, with plenty of space to follow with your finger while reading.

Her favorite page!
After reading the book we learned how to draw elephants!

I received a complimentary book and compensation for this review. As always, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
